IRCU joins the Nodding disease caravan

On the 8th of June 2012 the Women of Uganda through the “Women Unite and Speak Out Initiative” flagged off the Kitgum Karavan that took humanitarian assistance to the children and families in four districts in Northern Uganda that are affected by the Nodding syndrome. This is a strange disease that has affected over 3,500 children. This was essentially a citizens’ initiative who mobilized the items that were transported and distributed to over 300 households. Inter-Religious Council of Uganda joined the caravan that traversed the four districts handing out aid to the affected families.
