Gender Based Violence prevention stakeholders meeting for Busoga sub regionIRCU Admin
IRCU has been implementing an Irish Aid funded project in Busoga region which ended in December 2016. However Irish Aid has done an extension of 2 years called the Joint Transition Programme and implemented by four partners namely Center for Domestic Violence Prevention, Uganda Episcopal Conference, Uganda Women’s Network and the ministry of gender, labor and social protection.
The main purpose of this extension is for stakeholders to put in place sustainability mechanisms for GBV prevention and response. That is when Irish Aid will withdraw funding. The meeting therefore is for the stakeholders in the inter faith approach so as to come up with strategies to ensure that GBV work goes on without donor funding
Invited are the religious leaders of Busoga region together with district community development officers from the five districts where we are working namely; Jinja, Kamuli, Iganga, Bugiri and Mayuge.
