IRCU joins the rest of Ugandans to commemorate the Golden Jubilee.

The Religious fraternity under the Inter-Religious Council of Uganda (IRCU) joined the rest of Ugandans to commemorate 50 years of Independence.

As part of the celebrations, the Council organized a two day National Conference on Sustainable Peace, Justice and National Reconciliation from 3rd -4th October at Hotel Africana in Kampala. The Conference was under the theme ‘’ Uganda @50: The Role of Religious Leaders in Nation Building  “Our Journey’’.

Over 500 people attended the conference and these included the Senior Religious Leaders from all over the country, Politicians, Government representatives, Cultural leaders, Women, Youth, activists as well as IRCU Partners.

Among the key Government officials in attendance were the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister John Patrick Amama Mbabazi and the Vice President H.E Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi.
